Its been almost 3 years since you've been gone and still not a day nor moment goes by without you in my thoughts. I miss you. Its easy for someone whose never lost someone as close to them as you were to me to tell me that the pain will go away. I miss you. And no the pain has not gone away. I think you will be proud though when you were taken from me I made sure that you were never forgotten not now not ever. Everytime someone thinks of DeKalb County in 2006 they will remember me remembering YOU. I honor you because you are and were my rock. You absolutely loved me even when I got on your nerves. You helped me with my boys even though they drove you crazy. My heart aches because I want to see you so bad. We miss you.
I often read the letters you wrote to me viewing the card you made me and smelling the perfume you bought for me. Can you believe that? I still have that bottle of perfume. I refuse to use it all mostly because I don't want to have to throw away the bottle that you bought for me. I miss you.
Sometimes I feel filled with anger because I cant just call you to help me or to talk to me or just to tell me to get over it. Get over whatever was bothering me. I miss you. I pray everyday for God to help me to find peace with this. I love you and miss you.

We miss them and hold them close in our memories and hearts. Jerry was retired Army and served two tours in Vietnam. Sherlene was a talented musician. Their love of music is what attracted them to each other, but their kindness and love of one another is what kept them together.

Tremayne we came to visit you this past weekend. I didn't notice you were place next to a tree but since that was your name, its the perfect spot for you. Tremayne Jr. is 3 now of course and I make sure i show him pictures of you every single day and Alexia talks about you as if you never left. She still plays the game when we come into the house and says HI DADDY and it breaks my heart. We know your in a better place I just have a hard time explaining to them why. It hasn't been the same since you were taken from us. Son, to lose you to such violence and in your prime of life adds more pain if at all possible to a grief like no other. The "people" who did this to you and Naz are worse than animals as animals do not kill for sport.
I am trying to find solace in the memories of your smile and in the remembrance of your laughter and love of life but honestly it's so very difficult. You were/are my only son, my "Golden Boy" as your sisters called you, how am I supposed to let go? Talking to and reading the stories of so many others like me, I realize I am not alone. I pray that the light you shone on your friends and family illuminates your path now and I look forward to the day when we will be reunited. In the meantime, God's rest to you my special son.
